
Barbara Shelby has worked in the field of human services and school-age care for almost three decades. Experiences bridge that of Crisis Intervention Counseling, Program Director, Summer Day-Camp Manager, SAC Consultant /Workshop Facilitator, and Instructor at Macomb Community College, teaching School-Age Care. Formerly, she worked as staff trainer for Rochester Community Schools developing curriculum and resource materials for its innovative before-and-after school programs. This program serves more than 1500 children each year.
Barb currently dedicates her time towards promoting excellence in childcare professional development and practices. KIdActivities.net is an outlet for sharing that passion both with parents and caregivers--as well as meeting the needs and interests of children! Life is shared with her wonderful husband Ray, three children, three step-children, and thirteen grandchildren! She is owned by a demanding but affectionate cat --- loves traveling, dreaming, any kind of chocolate, sunny days, learning, and just 'being'...
